The Tanami is Newcastle Hats’ most popular and versatile style. It has a huge range of applications. It is extremely popular for every day work wear, however it is equally at home in the garden, on the boat and beach, or tucked away on that trip in the backpack or caravan.
The hat is made from cotton drill (or a blend in some colours), laminated to open cell foam with an open weave nylon lining. The laminated fabric breathes well, yet is absorbent which reduces perspiration. This creates a hat that is cool, comfortable and hardwearing and is far superior to traditional fur felt, canvas and leather hats.
With normal wear and tear the Tanami has a long life. Fading and shrinkage will be minimal, in a manner typical of high quality cotton drill work wear uniforms. We have many customers who have worn their Tanami for 10 years or more.
