The “Tanami Breezeway” is one of Newcastle Hats’ most popular and versatile styles. It has a huge range of applications and is extremely popular for every day work wear. However, it is equally at home in the garden, on the boat and beach or tucked away on that trip in the backpack or caravan.
It features polyester open weave mesh in the crown of the hat. This allows more airflow around the wearer’s head and they are therefore exceptionally cool. However sun protection is reduced and they are not UPF50+ rated. The lid and brim are made from cotton drill (or a blend in some colours), laminated to open cell foam with an open weave nylon lining. This creates a hat that is comfortable, hardwearing and far superior to traditional fur felt, canvas and leather hats at a price that every one can afford.
With normal wear and tear the “Tanami Breezeway” has a long life. Fading and shrinkage will be minimal, in a manner typical of high quality cotton drill work wear uniforms. We have many customers who have worn their “Breezeway” for 10 years or more.
