The Rough Rider is one of Newcastle Hats’ most popular products. It has a distinctive traditional western style that is timeless. Our range of kids hats are specifically designed to suit children’s heads and have features that maximize use as the child grows.
It is made from synthetic felt, which is durable, breathable, lightweight and fully washable. This fabric absorbs the wearer’s sweat and allows heat generated by the head to escape through the fabric. This combination makes these hats cool, comfortable and reasonably hardwearing hat and far superior to traditional fabrics such as fur felt, leather or canvas. They provide UPF50+ protection.
Specific kids sizes are 00(elastic), 001, XXS(elastic) in a small flexible brim and XS in either a small flexible brim or wired medium brim. Hats with elastic sweat band are designed so that it can be cut out as the child’s head grows, turning the hat into the next (larger) size.
