All Australian manufactured products are designed to be used with chinstraps. They are manufactured with eyelets in the brim to enable their fitment. Chinstrap and toggle sets need to be ordered separately for each hat.
Many styles can have a 35mm elastic sweatband added to the inside of the hats. The band has a soft terry towelling finish designed to absorb sweat. This option is popular for people who do not want to use a chinstrap but want added security to hold the hat firmly on the wearer. Except for some specific kids hats, elastic bands are not fitted to hats as standard and must be ordered. This adds production lead time to delivery.
Most large brim hats can have a legionnaire skirt added to the rear of the brim. They can be permanently fixed or attached with 3 press studs. The shirts are made from poly cotton and cover approximately one third of the circumference of the brim. The length (300mm) ensures adequate neck protection at all times.
Poly cotton lining
Whilst breezeway hats provide excellent airflow to the wearer they do not provide UPF 50+ protection. An increase in protection can be gained by having a poly cotton lining sewn into the inside of the crown. It is a compromise between the full crown hats and the breezeway. Please note Newcastle Hats do not guarantee a UPF rating with this option. They must be sewn within the production process and are therefore a make to order only option.
